Episode 9 - Adam Conover - 55 Photos

Adam enters the archives on January 6, 2011 performing on Lasers in the Jungle at Luca Lounge.

You know Adam from his show on TruTV and his podcast "Factually". I found his insights during the strikes helpful and he has a clear eyed view of comedy at the moment.

Lasers in the Jungle at Luca Lounge - 1/6/11

Adam's first photo in the archives is early in his stand up career on the night when we installed this backdrop I made for the show.

My friend Carol Hartsell had started producing some comedy shows at this venue and no matter what I tried, the performance photos were giving "draconian jail". I had an idea that a wide roll of seamless paper might make for a (relatively) cheap way to cover a lot of wall space. I took a bokeh-ed out photo of NYC at night, did MATH, for chrissakes, split it into a hundred or so 8x10 sections, printed those on adhesive backed paper, shredded those with a paper cutter, and affixed them to the seamless. My apartment looked like this for a few weeks:

The Artist's Chaos Way - December 12, 2010

Here's Adam, me, and Carol hanging out after the show.

I still have that sweater. It's from the now closed Lord & Taylor on 5th Avenue. I loved it there so much.
